Pop Up Acts

In 2018 we had our first Pop-Up stage. It was so popular that we have decided to keep it as a part of the festival. The Pop-Up stage can be found in the boating lake zone, towards Aldermans Hill.

Line-Up

12:30-13:30pm Badra Bellydance

Samantha has been belly dancing since 2000 and teaching since 2003. She trained as a Bellydance teacher with the JWAAD (Josephine Wise Academy of Arabic Dance) and has taken classes with the top teachers & dancers from the UK, USA and Cairo such as Josephine Wise, Randa Kamal, Raqia Hassan, Aida Nour, Galit Mersand, Azzia, Kay Taylor and Princess Faharna to name but a few.

Her classes are welcoming, upbeat and fun, and are attended by ladies of all ages, shapes and abilities. With the combination of traditional Egyptian dance with modern & fusion, there is something for all. Don’t worry should you find yourself addicted to the sensual exotic moves and music of the Middle East! If not that then perhaps the wonderful sparkly fab outfits you can dress up in - what more could a girl want?

Bellydance is great for the body and the mind. It's a great way to tone, burn calories and mobilise all your joints so help with those aches and pains. Don’t let things get you down, come along to class and shimmy your stress away. When dancing, your body produces is own natural happy drug which can lift your spirits!

Now’s your chance to see what it’s all about.

1.00pm - 1.30pm  The Big Choir

The Big Choir is a group of enthusiastic amateur singers who love to sing and perform together.  We meet weekly and have 3 sessions to choose from.  Full details can be found on our website: www.thebigchoir.org

Members pay a monthly subscription with all profits going to The Francis Crick Institute in Kings Cross for research into 200 different types of cancer.  We are aiming to donate £20,000 at our Christmas concert cheque donation to Cancer Research UK.

We’re back for regular rehearsals the first week of September and would love to see lots of new members coming to join us.  There are no auditions, and you don’t need any previous experience.

The one thing that unites all our members is a love of singing, at any level.  Please get in touch to book your free taster info@thebigchoir.org

2.00pm - 2.30pm  ELODS Chitty Chitty Bang Bang

2.30pm - 3.30pm  Solana and Gabriel

Opening the music on the Bandstand earlier in the afternoon, we have such big expectations of this teenage brother and sister duo, currently studying at the Brit Schools, that we thought – why not see them twice! Even at a young age their track record is impressive and includes high profile venues and events such as the Jazz Cafe, St Lucia Jazz Festival, PwC’s Building Public Trust Awards, Women of the World Festival, Children in Need, BT Sports Relief Charity Ball and performing at the Royal Festival Hall with the London Community Gospel Choir.

And now the Palmers Green Festival Pop-Up Stage! Don’t miss.

3.30pm - 4.00pm  Gospel Choir

4.00pm - 4.30pm  Chris Royall

Chris has been a long time performer with one of the world’s great choirs. He now spends his time passing his knowledge onto the next generation. He’ll be bringing along some of his pupils to sing at the festival.

4.30pm - 5.00pm  Bollywood Dance

Dance is a major part of the Palmers Green Festival so we’re delighted to welcome Bollywood in 2019.  After a fantastic performance and linked beginners class at a local street party, Rakhee moves onto the nearby but even bigger Palmers Green Pop Up stage. Yet another festival inspired opportunity to see real dance talent and also wiggle your own body about.
